InstaHasher facts, features and publisher
InstaHasher is a free browser-based hash generator and file checksum checker. It generates text or file digests and compares a local file with a complete expected checksum. Tool inputs are processed in the browser and are not uploaded to InstaHasher.

Important limits
- The file calculator reads the entire file into browser memory; practical size depends on the device and browser.
- A checksum match proves only that the compared bytes produced the expected digest. The expected checksum must come from a trusted source.
- MD5 and SHA-1 are included for legacy interoperability, not adversarial verification.
- The CryptoJS functions historically named SHA3 produce Keccak values, so InstaHasher labels them Keccak rather than NIST SHA-3.
- A fast general-purpose digest is not a password-storage function.
